What Professionals Are Saying...

School of the Arts

CITA offers beginning-to-advanced ballet classes for four year olds through adults. The structure of our school is similar to that of other ballet schools and our classes follow the traditional ballet methodology. We presently have ten class levels that are featured in our annual performances.

We have two annual performances. Our Winter Performance (January) and Spring Performance (May or early June) are dynamic full-length, original works that are based on themes and stories that are heart-based, uplifting, and appropriate for people of all ages!

CITA is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization and all donations are completely tax deductible.  We are deeply grateful for every gift we receive and always seek to use all our funds in God-honoring ways!

Q & A

When do CITA classes meet?  Most classes are held weekdays in the afternoon/early evening, and we have some classes in the early afternoon for homeschoolers as well.  We avoid having regular classes on Saturdays or Sundays.  (During performance season, we add Monday night rehearsals as needed.)

Can parents observe classes?  Yes!  We have specific places in our studio available for family members to stay and observe classes.

What is the teacher/student ratio for classes?  Typically 15:1, and a teacher's assistant is provided as needed with larger classes.

How are class placement decisions made?  Based on the information we receive from your interview, our Artistic Director will decide which skill level would most appropriate for your child.  For more advanced students, an audition may be requested.

When do class promotions happen?  Evaluations are scheduled at the end of each semester though we do not hesitate to make class level changes anytime during the year as needed,  the exception being when choreography is being set for performances.

What is the cost? Tuition is based on the number of studio hours for any given class.  As of 2017, tuition fees range from $60 - $200 per month, depending on the class level. A semester fee of $100 is also applied for each student.

Are scholarships available?  Yes!  We do not want anyone to miss out because of financial hardship.  Often families can offset a portion of the tuition cost by doing some volunteer work around the studio.  Information about scholarships can be obtained from the CITA Administrator.

Do you have to be of any particular religious persuasion to be a part of CITA?  No.  Participating families just need to understand and agree with the heart and mission of CITA and want to be a part of who we are.  We do not favor any particular belief system, nor do we ask about religious preference in our interviews.
