Comments and Reviews of Past Productions

"A brilliant, truly incredible, performance last night of "Epic, Timeless Tale of Extravagant Love" took my breath away.
Produced and performed by a local organization called Christ In The Arts (CITA), it features beautiful, at time aggressive and always powerful original choreography by Lara Hinds -- with three guest performers and a large local ensemble commanding attention.....this is the second time I have used this phrase this year: Not-to-be-missed entertainment.
Just before intermission, I actually let out a cry of approval when applause just did not seem like enough. Believe me, it was spontaneous. Jill quickly admonished me by saying, "Oh my gosh. Bill, you just whooped in church."I kept it to "Bravo"s the next time. (No more whooping.)
It is unfair not to list all names, but it seems criminal not to at least mention Jonathan Chapman (a visitor fromBallet Magnificat, of Jackson, Miss.) dancing as the Lord; Ben Caldwell (a visitor from Arrows International, of Oklahoma City, dancing as the Enemy); and Rachel Hinds dancing as the Bride -- along with impressive CITA's well-trained company dancers. The third guest artist is impressive young Clayton Winters, also of Arrows International troupe.
This is but a fraction of those involved. Also deserving of praise is designer Robert "R.T." Todd, whose prior projects include Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. Check out some of his CITA designs, and some of the dancing. Executive director Randall Hinds was flustered earlier this week when asked to describe this production. Now I understand why he said you have to see it to believe it.

We were all SO blessed to be there last night! No recording, no DVD, will ever do it justice... there's just something about watching the act of creation take place in the very moment when it happens... seeing it... hearing it... reliving ...the love story with the dancers and singers... I have no words adequate to describe the impact it had on me. Thank you for the vast amounts of your own hearts and souls that you have poured into this testimony... I want you to never stop telling the story…never, ever stop making it come alive!.... SOOO powerful!

~ Sherry Casella - Houston, TX

… Last night was an incredible display of God's love for His Bride. My family wept with sorrow and joy throughout the message. Thank you so much for your faithfulness in the ministry.

WOW, what a wonderful, blessed performance. I was so moved and blessed by all of it. Awesome story and impact on the true meaning of the truth. What a gift you all have. I would recommend this to all. Your performers were so professional and timely. Such a great production ALL IN ALL!!

~ Kathy Weems Flory -  Lubbock Resident

I am blown away by the work of the Spirit through CITA. Only a true, pure excellence could elicit such an overwhelmingly positive response. Dancers, choreography, vocalists, and technical prowess were steeped in hard work, humility, and (again) excellence. This production guides the heart and eyes heavenward. Epic gives an extraordinary gift: a moment when the glass is less dark, when God's love shines through and into hearts.

"... have just returned from this evening's performance, and had to take just a moment to thank you. The lights have dimmed, and the fog machine has been shut down, but the word pictures you set to music and motion will live in people's hearts forever ... Let's just say the Lord knew what He was doing when He guided you to create this work ...I was changed because of your faithfulness ... It was an incredible production, and I look forward to seeing more ..."

"... am writing in support of the production of A Tale of the Kingdom, a musical written and composed by Randall Hinds. The musical was a tremendous success in May of '07 at Lubbock High School Auditorium. Over 2100 people attended the three performances. I attended the production and was very impressed with the quality of the music that Randall had composed and the magnificent sets. I enjoyed the complexity and beauty of the music, the message of the libretto, and the characters involved of which there were 85 cast, including significant community leaders such as Lynn Harms."

"... I had the opportunity to attend the theatrical production, "A Tale of the Kingdom - The Musical", with original music by Randall Hinds. This was a wonderful production, well-written, cast and performed. The musical and acting quality of the entire cast was quite impressive...it is so exciting when "one of our own" is involved in such worthy projects."

"... A Tale of the Kingdom - The Musical" is a marvelous production that exalts God and Jesus Christ in a wonderful story line...Janie and I saw first hand the impact that the production had on those who participated and those who came as observers. Above all else, the Christ in the Arts folks are seeking to glorify our Father."
