Rylan Ricks

Rylan began dancing at CITA in 2016. After only one summer workshop, and he was hooked! He began training in Guys Class 1, then joined the Jeté class and quickly worked his way to higher levels like Apprentice and Guys Class 3. Rylan has recently accepted the honor of being in the Company!

Rylan loves the excitement of performing and feels right at home on stage. He has been a TA for Christ In The Arts for two years now and is assisting in Guys Class 1. He is so excited to be assisting in guys class, especially since it was where he began his dance training years ago. It is also exciting for him because “guys class is where the fun is.” Not only does he TA for Guys Class but accepted the offer to Ta the Pirouette level. It’s different than teaching the guys but Rylan is eager to learn new things. Rylan has loved training under many qualified dance instructors and guest teachers like Kevin Hinds, Jiri Voborsky, Holly Hinds, Lara Hinds, Rachel Butts, Mark Leber, Lysion Vieira, and many more.

Rylan has had the opportunity to go to Ballet Magnificat!’s summer dance intensive in 2022. He went with twelve other dancers from CITA. Rylan received great instruction and was taught by a variety of great and qualified teachers. He loved meeting new people. Rylan especially loved getting to know the guy dancers there like Sam Corridoni, Silas Fennema, Timothy Downing, Isaac Brackett, Stephen Davis, and Conrad Means! Not only did Rylan receive training from the Ballet Mag instructors, but he also took two master classes from Steve Rooks and Vincent Hardy.

Rylan hopes he can bring a love of dance to those he teaches while also having a lot of fun. He is grateful for the friends and community he has found in dance here at Christ In The Arts!
